Muse’s Matt Bellemy Wants To Record in Space

For today’s odd music news, Matt Bellemy from Muse wants to record music in space…because it would be cool. Now, Matt Bellemy may be right about going to outer space, but to record music? I guess each to his own, but doesn’t this seem to be a tiny little bit…uhm whats the word…outlandish? I don’t even want to think how much it would cost to produce this “space song.”

Bellemy said, “We’re trying to bag a free trip on [Virgin Galactic]. I’m going to try to convince Richard Branson to let us make a music video or record a song up there. I think that would be cool. Would I be scared? I think I’ll be alright.”

Bellamy also revealed that his interest in space may be steming from a new-found interest in astronomy and space, which came after fans at a Moscow show gave Bellamy a telescope as a gift.”I set it up when I got home and looked at the moon,” said Bellamy. “F—– hell, have you ever looked at the moon through a telescope? It’s all mountains and stuff, it’s unbelievable.”

Anyways…until they reach the stars literally, they have some earth bound shows you can see them at:
