In what has already been a wild week for another top act bassist, Oliveri has scratched his name alongside the wall of shame. Nick Oliveri who is the bassist for Queens Of The Stone Age has been arrested after a S.W.A.T. standoff at his Hollywood home. The standoff with the law lasted for over five hours all because Oliveri and his girlfriend had an argument. Oliveri assaulted his girlfriend and she left the residence. She then showed up the following day to get her personal belongings. The fight was so disruptive that a neighbor called the police to deal with the situation.
Oliveri then locked himself and his girlfriend inside the residence. When the police arrived at the scene, Oliveri refused to release his girlfriend. Then the S.W.A.T. team was called in to handle what had become a hostage situation. When the S.W.A.T. team arrived a standoff ensued.
Oliveri finally gave in and released his girlfriend, and then later himself without any shots fired. The police searched Oliveri’s residence and found a loaded shotgun.
Oliveri was booked on felony domestic violence charges, and he was released after posting $100,000 bail.
