I remember when I was about 10 or so and I got a guitar tablature book of the Ozzy Osbourne and Randy Rhoads Tribute record. I was so excited to learn how to play Crazy Train! Nothing beats the feeling when you were younger to being able to play along with your rock idols on a *cough* cassette tape for the first time.
Anyways…when I saw this little bit of footage gold, I got excited to hear what lost recording Rhoads was on, and two, to see Ozzy’s reaction.
So one of my favorite underground hip hop rappers is DZK. He’s been around for a while and anyone who knows anything about the underground hip hop community knows of DZK. This guy is amazing with his wordplay and lyricism. To show my appreciation to DZK, I figured I would switch it up a little bit. Instead of giving you one video to watch, I figured I would give you three. I know I know, Migrate Music is too nice. You can thank us though by leaving a comment and telling us what you think about DZK.
When I first heard Wale, I thought he was just like a whole lot of other artists out there. But after listening to him, I have come to accept him. Quite frankly I think he is pretty damn good. Wale slows it up for the ladies with this track off the album “Self Made Vol.1” Check the video out below.
LONG ISLAND, NY – Long Island’s veteran hardcore metal group, This Is Hell, has announced that its fourth studio album, Black Mass, will see an October 11th release on Rise Records, confirming the identity of the mysterious website, AllRiseForTheBlackMass.com. The teaser site has seen a complete update, including a YouTube stream of the brand new track, “Black Mass.”
“The new album takes the crossover and metal influences from last album to much greater extremes and the end product was Black Mass, by far the heaviest and thrashiest songs we’ve written and recorded,” said guitarist, Rick Jimenez.
“Lyrically this album touches on issues we haven’t dove into before. Social injustice as a whole is a recurring theme. Persistence and empowerment are familiar themes with us that I’ve revisited, but with an even more aggressive outlook than before.”
Black Mass, the follow-up to the 2010 release, Weight of the World, was recorded earlier this summer at Killingsworth Studio in Valley Village, CA with producer, Tomas Costanza.
“The artwork was done by Will Blood, an amazing English illustrator/artist that we’ve worked with on shirts and designs before,” added Jimenez. “The concept came from some lyrics and underlying themes from the album and Will really took the ball and ran with it. Whether someone takes the art at sheer superficial face value, or really absorbs the details and subtleties of it, it’s an extremely powerful piece of artwork. I feel the same way about the music and especially the lyrics on this new record.”
This Is Hell will hit the road next month for a North American tour with Underoath, Comeback Kid and The Chariot.
“We’re very excited for our upcoming tour with Underoath, Comeback Kid, and The Chariot,” said vocalist, Travis Reilly. “We’ve toured many times with Comeback Kid and we look forward to spending more time with them and meeting the other guys. It’s going to be great to play some new songs for a bunch of new faces.”

CyHi Da Prince is a young hustler in the game. He puts out G.O.O.D. music (pun intended) and his latest mixtape “Jack of All Trades” is definitely worth a download. Just a pre-warning, the mixtape isn’t an album. Some of the songs only last a minute and are freestyle tracks. But hey who can complain, it’s free!
Native Columbus, OH bandLike Moths To Flames (Rise Records) have regrettably been forced to bow out of their run on this fall’s IGNITOUR which they were to begin on September 2nd. The band has released the following statement:
“Due to the departure of our bass player, Aaron Douglas, combined with a delay in the studio completion due to Hurricane Irene, we regret to inform everyone that we will have to drop off the upcoming INGNITOUR with Ice Nine Kills and An Early Ending. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but without a solid lineup, we don’t want to disservice our fans in any capacity. We are going to finish up at the studio, head home and prepare for our two upcoming fall tours: Close Your Eyes/The Color Morale tour and then Thrash and Burn. We’re super stoked on how our record is turning out and can’t wait for you guys to hear it. We’re working on a plan to release a few tracks prior to our November 8th release date”
Like Moths To Flames has also announced a change to the lineup in the wake of Douglas’ departure. Eli Ford (ex-My Ticket Home) has joined the band and will take on guitar duties while Aaron Evans will move from guitar to bass.
Well today is the final day we will be offering our very first mixtape for free. Like all things, it is time to move on. But we have to say, this will always be our favorite mixtape that we will ever create. This was the one that started it all, that gave birth to the idea. So for the rest of the day, you can hear it for the last time, or you can download it and keep it in your music collection.
But as we say goodbye to our first chapter…we say hello to another.

Usurp Synapse is by all means my all time favorite band. if you were to ask me why, I probably couldn’t even accurately articulate into words an appropriate answer. They’re from Lafayette, Indiana and only performed together from 1999-2000. In 2003 they released a discography titled Disinformation Fix. The album came with two CD’s and archived the bands many releases beginning with their most recent and ending with their oldest. It is amazing how much you can hear the band evolve over those two short years. The album contains 61 songs. The band was known for their interesting marketing habits and the quick, spazzy songs, which combines elements of grindcore drumming and frantic high-pitched guitar work. Most of their stuff is out of print aside from the discography. In 2008 they released their final material for free on the band’s myspace page. This short EP consisted of two songs broken down into movements and was called A Vile Contamina.
Earlier this summer The Black Dahlia Murder released their fifth studio album, Ritual. The new album was released to critical and fan acclaim alike. In my personal opinion, it is probably the best BDM album to date. It’s fast, it’s focused, it’s heavy and the entire album carries with it an underlying theme of mysticism and magic.
