Migrate Music Video Premiere: THOT- The Shy Summer (Acoustic Version)

Fig.5: The sun catcher Cover Art

Our favorite Belgian band THOT has just released a music video today! We love this band, and everything they put out. We have featured them before on our site here and we even featured their song The Shy Summer on our Migrate Music Mixtape Vol. II – Alignment Of Sound this month. (Its free to download)

From THOT,

“This video was shot in an undergroud house in Belgium and features Claudia, the guest vocal on The Shy Summer (she’s also singing on Spellbound Fields).
We are actually working on setting up an European tour for February 2012, that will go through Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Hungary and maybe more. Some gigs have been already confirmed and we just CAN’T WAIT! By the way, if you are interested to invite us in your town or to play acoustic gig in your room, feel free to get in touch with us at booking@thotweb.net

About acoustic shows. Silent. 2 are confirmed. First (a private one) will takes place in Paris on 17th September (Some of you will maybe receive invitations) and the other one will take place in Prague around 10 october. More details are coming soon.”

So you can watch the video below, AND you can download the original version of The Shy Summer HERE.

Slipknot confirms that they will be touring the U.S. in 2012

M. Shawn Crahan, A.K.A. Clown, has announced on Slipknot’s facebook page that they will be touring the U.S. come next year. Quote, “I also wanted to tell everyone straight from my mouth because you may have heard it already anyway, but Slipknot will be touring by next June in America only, but that does not mean things will not change and as they do I will along with others tell you our family first.

No album yet because it is to soon and there are no songs yet because the band needs to come together to write this next one. I can not wait to feel the ideas like choking on color. Everything happens for a reason, so be ready.”

Sydney Australia post-rock band SleepMakesWaves has just released their latest album …And So We Destroyed Everything. This album is epic, and filled with the perfect blend of dynamics and emotion expressed through each instrument.

Despite going through a rough transition back in 2009, AND having gear and equipment stolen from them right before recording, SleepMakesWaves has rebounded stronger than ever with …And So We Destroyed Everything. Their new guitarist Otto-Wicks Green has breathed new life into the group and he showcases his abilities masterfully throughout the new album.

As of today, gates  is hitting the road to tour. Click HERE for their tour dates.

So in anticipation of gates show at Galaxy CD’s, we decided to check these guys out before hand and see what they had to offer. Needless to say…we were pleasantly surprised.

gates recently put out their album The Sun Will Rise And Lead Me Home earlier this year. The album is heavily post-rock sounding and even has hints of Explosions In The Sky, but manages to have flowing lyrics tied to it. Being able to pull that off was a big surprise for us, and had us hooked immediately.

Every song on this album is worth listening to. If you skip through a song, you are only robbing yourself. There might only be six tracks on this album, but they are six very strong tracks that have a lot of substance to them. I would have to say though, that the best song on The Sun Will Rise And Lead Me Home is In The Morning. That particular song alone has been on repeat for the past hour…hour and a half? Ok, I admit…I can’t get enough of it. The guitars on that particular song is so damn catchy and the building up to the end only to leave you hanging is simply masterful.

But it doesn’t stop there, you can DOWNLOAD The Sun Will Rise And Lead Me Home for FREE. All you have to do is go here: http://gates.bandcamp.com/

You can choose to donate some cash when you download.

Watch: Foo Fighters Rock Out In Fans Garages

This is probably the best tour idea in history in my opinion…rock out in your fans garages. The insperation for the idea came from the Foo Fighters recording their last album Wasting Light in Dave Grohl’s own San Fernando Valley garage. The tour went on for eight days to various garages across the country and even into Canada.

Now if you wanted to see one of these epic shows good luck, tickets were nearly impossible to score. But thankfully Foo Fighters brought along a camera and created 40 minutes of film so us less fortune ones could get just a little taste of what it would be like to have the Foo Fighters rock out in our own garages.

So check out what is probably one of the BEST band to fan experiences ever.

Innerpartysystem goes their separate ways

InnerPartySystem has come out and said that they will be going on an “indefinite hiatus”. You can read their full statement from their Facebook note below.

We find ourselves struggling to find the right way to start this statement to you all. Maybe a clever anecdote, or short story with some witty but true moral is in order? Nah, lets just stick to the facts. You all have been beyond amazing to us, and you deserve nothing less than the honest truth.

innerpartysystem is going on indefinite hiatus. We aren’t breaking up nor do we hate each other. As a matter of fact, we are all great friends. BROTHERS. Our experiences with this band and the people we’ve met over the past 6 years have shaped us into who we are today. We will without a doubt look back on these times with nothing but positive thoughts and feelings.

While we will always treasure our time as innerpartysystem, we as individuals have chosen a path different from the one the band originally set out on.  We can’t stress enough that this is a very positive move for us.  As we’ve grown, we want to move on to new projects that keep us excited about making music.  Such is life.  We promise, there will be music coming from all 3 of us separately, at some point.

So, with that being said, here’s some facts…

Will there be a last show(s)? Of course! We want this send off to be a party!  We are playing August 26th at Building 24 in Reading, a special outdoor show in Hoboken on August 27th, and we’re making a trip out west to see our friends in Denver at the Bluebird Theatre on the 28th.

Can I cop any IPS swag at a super sweet discounted price? Absolutely. There will be a mega indefinite hiatus sale at both our US and UK merch stores starting early next week.

“Indefinite Hiatus”? What the hell does that even mean? It means we are taking a break from Innerpartysystem.   Beyond that we don’t really know.

Until next time. . .
